📄 Description

The purpose of this project was to represent the cultural heritage of Old Dhaka, such as the architecture, its traditional foods, beliefs, and way of living. Through this video, we mainly highlighted the historic architecture and its famous culinary heritage, like Hajir Biryani. This project also addresses the tension between ethnocentrism and cultural relativism, looking at how our own opinions can make us misunderstand other cultures. Through this analysis, we were able to better understand how a 'strange' custom became a meaningful tradition with a change in perception.

🔍 Justification

This project shows Old Dhaka’s heritage to help people understand it better. It tries to reduce misunderstandings that happen when outsiders judge local customs based on their own cultural views. The purpose of this project was to highlight the strong culture that Old Dhaka has maintained throughout generations.

📊 Key Outcomes

• This project helped me better understand that culture is not merely defined by national boundaries but exists within the specific rituals and beliefs of local communities. Furthermore, I learned how to present a specific culture in front of the audience while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
