📄 Description
The motive of this project was to create a media relations strategic plan for a fictional student-led political party called Echelon of Tomorrow. The political party aims to solve the education inequalities by uniting students from all backgrounds to ensure that everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources. For this project, I was assigned to work on developing a media relations strategic plan, which included identifying target audiences , such as youth, rural voters, and the middle class; along with developing media objectives; and designing strategic communication for various media channels.
🔍 Justification
Media relations is important for influencing how people think and for building trust. This project helped us learn how organizations use communication to create a strong public image. Additionally, this project also highlighted the value of clear and ethical communication when working with the media and the public.
📊 Key Outcomes
- Through this project, I got to learn how to develop a press release and gained in-depth knowledge of how media relations plays a crucial role in establishing and sustaining a brand's reputation. Furthermore, I also learned how the project taught me how communication tools can be used to advocate for social change, such as ensuring equity in the education system.
